Bringing Christmas Home To My Living Room
'Tis the flavour to deck out your home in festive vacation decor. I beloved this fourth dimension of yr considering everyone seems to exist in the decorating spirit. I know I take been. In one case you lot dig out your Christmas decorations, where exercise you begin?
I always start by putting up our Christmas tree in our living room. I fluff the branches, cord on the lights and wearing apparel it upwardly in ornaments and I'm instantly in the holiday decorating spirit. Of everything Christmas, the tree holds the almost tradition for me personally. When I was growing upward, my mom bought each of us kids ane new ornament every year. She would take the states shopping and we would admire all of the pretty choices, finally selecting our favorite. Nosotros brought them dwelling, wrote our name and the year in blackness Sharpie on the bottom, and carefully hung our new treasures on the tree.
When I moved out on my own later higher, my box of ornaments came with me, fix to decorate my first Christmas tree in my own place.
I am very excited to exist participating in the Bringing Christmas Home tour this week. I've joined up with a group of blogger friends to bring you lot an entire calendar week of holiday dwelling house tours, room by room. Several shared their festive porches yesterday, and today is the day that many of us are sharing our living room decor.
So, without further adieu, let's stride inside the front door and tour my living room.
We have a little nook of an entry that opens upwards directly into the living room. Hither's what you see from the front door:
First of all, I have to show off my brand new picture ledge! I've had this planned out in my caput since we moved in a year agone, and I finally made it happen this week. I built information technology all on my own, painted it, so had David help me effigy out how to hang it up. I am overly excited to have a place to rotate photos and art as the seasons change.
Oh, and in obligatory room tour fashion, here are two mugs of hot cocoa perfectly perched on the couch. Don't they look beautiful? And no, I don't really serve myself cocoa similar this but information technology sure adds some cozy to the couch in these photos 🙂
Here's a trivial peak at the end tables on either side of the couch. Those little gold deer are probably my favorite ornamentation in the whole room. I plant them at Hobby Lobby earlier this autumn, and was instantly in dear. They're but and so darn cute!
This jade tree was actually a white elephant gift I received last yr. It's perfect for me, considering it requires and then footling watering. I added an decoration to it as a joke, but then decided I liked it. So, naturally I added some more.
I love jingle bells. And this gold bowl. So I put them together and they make me happy 😉
Directly across from the burrow is our Television receiver. I added a lot of greenery to our TV stand, along with some gold glitter bows and pine cones. At first I idea it was a bit gaudy, but at present I dear it. I found these gold bows at the austerity store the other 24-hour interval.
Hither's the side of our living room furthest from the forepart door. The doorway between the couch and chair leads to the kitchen.
I had a lot of fun wrapping up some presents the other dark. I dear choosing a couple rolls of wrapping paper each year, so creating a stack of beautiful gifts. I used a thick black ribbon on them, finishing the gold polka-dot paper off with a bow and the ruddy paper with a sparkly snowflake.
I've recently been enjoying creating footling vignettes on my cedar chest under these windows on the far side of our living room. I think they're looking nice and festive.
I love this mini boxwood wreath I made recently. I posted the tutorial here last week if you want to cheque it out.
I've besides finally gotten in the groove of styling this corner shelf. It'southward actually beautiful, but I've had information technology for three years and tin can never quite figure out what to put on the fiddling shelves. This is a big comeback from what I used to have on information technology!
Alrighty, at present allow's plow back around and take a wait at the side of the room that we walked in. The entryway and front end door are right through this doorway. Our little house has beautiful rounded doorways off of the living room, so I wanted to accentuate them with some decor. I really beloved how this garland looks effectually the doorway. However, I really don't like the pine door. It looks so out of identify, specially at present that my living room is painting nicely. On my to-do list for 2022 is to paint all of our interior doors a charcoal grey.
Ooh, remember the "Happy Everyday" banner I fabricated before this fall? Well, I even so beloved it but felt like it needed to be replaced with a more festive garland for the holidays. And then, the other night my friend Ashley helped me create this "Fa La La" banner using some metal cardstock and my Silhouette.
This small wall is on the other side of the front doorway. It sort of perplexed me when we moved in, but now I treat information technology like an entryway area. The demote was a wedding souvenir congenital past my brother, then I love having it on brandish. The bookshelf is a functional place to drop our keys, file our mail service, and constrict abroad our hats and gloves.
Thank you for stopping by to tour my living room today. Please feel gratuitous to visit anytime!
Stop back tomorrow forenoon as we proceed our tour into the dining room. And don't forget to visit all of the other Bringing Christmas Home tours happening this week:
